Open Monday to Saturday 08:00 to 20:00, with last entry at 18:00. Closed on Sundays, except the last Sunday of each month, when entry is free from 09:00 to 14:00 with last entry at 12:30; that free morning is walk-in only, cannot be booked, and the queue is enormous. Full admission is €20, reduced €10, without an online booking fee. Closed in 2026 on 1 and 6 January, 11 February, 19 March, 6 April, 1 May, 29 June, 14 and 15 August, 1 November, and 8, 25 and 26 December. Book a timed slot at tickets.museivaticani.va, the only official sales site; lookalike resellers charge more. Shoulders and knees covered. Flash is banned throughout, and photography of any kind is banned in the Sistine Chapel.
