- Free and open at all hours. The church of Sant'Agnese in Agone on the west side is free to enter but keeps its own hours: closed all day Monday, open Tuesday to Friday 09:00 to 19:00 and Saturday and Sunday 09:00 to 20:00, and closed between 13:00 and 15:00 on every day it opens. Guided tours of its crypt are sold separately and have to be booked. From early December to Epiphany the Christmas market fills the whole oval and the fountains disappear behind stalls. Bernini's Four Rivers fountain in the centre is floodlit at night, and the square is at its quietest well before nine in the morning, before the portrait painters set up.
