- The steps and the square cost nothing and never close, but sitting on the steps is prohibited under Rome's 2019 urban police regulation and the fine is €250, enforced by officers posted at the top and the bottom. Dragging wheeled luggage down them is separately banned. A larger €400 penalty exists but it belongs to a different offence, defacing or damaging the monument, and it is not an aggravated sitting fine. The pink house at the foot on the right is the Keats-Shelley House: open Monday to Saturday 10:00 to 13:00 and 14:00 to 18:00, last entry 17:45, closed Sundays. Adults €7, reduced €5, no booking needed, with free guided tours on Saturdays at 11:00 and 15:00. The second floor is up 39 steps and there is no lift. The site is ksh.roma.it.
