Roman Forum
The valley where Rome ran the world — and still leaves flowers for Caesar.
Opening hours, admission and address
- Address
- Largo della Salara Vecchia 5/6
- Opening hours
- Summer09:00–19:15
- Winter09:00–16:30
- Admission
- The Forum is covered by the same ticket as the Colosseum, and a cheaper Forum-and-Palatine ticket is sold for visitors who skip the arena. Tickets come from the archaeological park's own site, ticketing.colosseo.it, not from the former concessionaire whose name still appears on older listings and on resale sites. The Forum opens half an hour after the Colosseum and closes at the same time, with last entry an hour before. Buy before you arrive: the Largo della Salara Vecchia gate is an entrance but has no ticket office, and it has a record of closing at short notice, so plan on the Via Sacra or Colosseum-side entrances as a fallback. There is no shade in the valley, so bring water and a hat.
