Opening hours

Admission
Entry is timed, and the standard ticket also admits you to the Roman Forum and the Palatine within the validity printed on the ticket itself. Buy through the archaeological park's own system at ticketing.colosseo.it: that replaced the previous concessionaire, and most of the sites ranking above it in search are resellers charging a markup. Booking ahead is effectively compulsory in season, since slots are released a fixed number of days in advance and the good morning times go within days. Closing time shifts several times a year with the daylight, and the last admission is an hour before it; the site closes only on 25 December and 1 January. Expect a security check with a queue of its own, and bring water.
