Last admission is forty-five minutes before closing; the monument opens late, at noon, on the first working Monday of each month, and shuts on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December. The colonnade walk around the dome is a separate warm-season ticket and it shuts for restoration campaigns that run for months at a time. It has been closed to visitors for long stretches, so treat the view as a bonus and check the official site the week you go.
