La Boqueria Market
The city's great food market, trading on this spot since 1217.
Opening hours, admission and address
- Address
- La Rambla 91
- Opening hours
- Mon–Sat08:00–20:30
- Admission
- Free to walk through, open Monday to Saturday from 08:00 to 20:30 and closed all day Sunday. There is no ticket and nothing to book. It is busiest late in the morning; the fish counters are thin on Mondays, because the boats do not land at the weekend, and many stalls still take cash only. A refurbishment of the market begins after the summer of 2026, with the heavy work running from 2027 to 2029 and trading moved into a provisional market area while it goes on. If you are visiting in those years, expect the layout, the entrances and the stall list to differ from any description written before the works started, this one included.
