The square itself is open ground at any hour and costs nothing. The Roman city beneath it and the royal halls above are visited through the MUHBA history museum on the square, which charges €7.30 for a ticket that also covers the other MUHBA sites except Park Guell. It opens Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 to 19:00 and Sunday 10:00 to 20:00, with last entry 45 minutes before closing, and shuts on Mondays and on 1 January, 1 May, 24 June and 25 December. Entry is free for under-16s, on the first Sunday of the month and every Sunday from 15:00; reduced rates cover under-29s and over-65s. Booking is not required.
